A thought !!
I constantly think about things as and when they happen. So once a thought stuck me and I was wondering about it, whether this thing happens in reality??
Sometime back i had seen this SRK block buster Paheli, in which SRK plays a double role of a dedicated husband as well as a ghost. The character of his wife is played by Rani Mukherjee. As the story unfolds, SRK has to leave his wife for a business trip. His wife feels lonely and desperate without him and when she is approached by a ghost (SRK in double role), after much hesitation she accepts his love and even goes to the extent of fornication, knowing very well that her husband is pretty much alive and caring.
While its very much true, that a husband needs to take care of all the emotional and physical needs of his wife, such story-lines potray a very bad image in the minds of the Indian viewers disrupting the chastity of Indian women. Can women become so adulterous for the want of bodily needs that they commit deceit? Does the hunger for sex becomes so strong for them, that they can't wait for their loving and caring husband to return?
I, as a guy, can't answer these questions properly but i feel that the image which media potrays in this regard is incorrect. Indian women are supposed to be the symbol of tangible purity, and such depiction merely downgrades their status in society. Pure and high thoughts are influenced by our surroundings but when young people see this false picture of the Indian women, they get a wrong image that the moment the men step out of their homes, their women will indulge in extra-marital affairs. Hence, even though unintentional, media brings about a feeling of salient crisis in the minds of young people.
The image of the women should be shown with utmost respect and dignity and whatever content is being shown should be carefully thought of, because media is the most powerful medium affecting the minds and actions of millions of people across the country.
However, as I have said, that, me being a guy can't really answer this question absolutely correctly, so i request for your comments, esp from the ladies, as to what do they feel about this issue.

hey that was a really nice thought... There are many times in ones life when ego comes in between love. Something like respecting eachother's belief. We follow some religious beliefs from childhood and if someone especially the loved ones make a simple comment will hurt a lot and that small scratch at heart may do a lot of damage to the healthy relation.... when no family or dear ones to support during this insecurity matters a lot.... What do u think on this??????
well that is the place where the foundation of love is tested. Caring each other, loving, etc are a part of it. Ups and downs are a part of it.. Only when u're alone u missed ur loved ones. However, a strong healthy relationship will be overcome all these and stay unaffected. Time however plays a vital role here
well "Indian women are supposed to be the symbol of tangible purity,"
does that mean that jus beoz a woman is born in india she must be / is a symbol of
tangible purity?
"such depiction merely downgrades
their status in societywhen young people see this false picture of the Indian women, they get a wrong image that the moment the men step out of their homes, their women will indulge in extra-marital affairs."
similarly we hear many stories of men involving in extra marital affairs does that mean that every wife shud suspect her husband???
any relation is based on trust be it India be it America be it any where only love prevails that is the only way ta have a happy relation
Hey mate, i never said that since a woman is not born in India, she would be impure... but that Indian women have had a history of chastity.
i dont think i mean to differentiate betn men and women in this article.. but just want to point out that not every women would sleep with another man if her husband has gone away. But what the common sees on the screen is a general depiction of Indian women, which is wrong.
agreed there would be many such men and women but not everyone...
Hope i am clear :)
The media and entertainment symbol and concept has completely changed these days .. Gaurav !
There were days when we use to hear and see things that Men usually go around having this craving for bodily needs more than a women... which is still a fact most of the times .. But maybe the media is trying to show that even women have the same bodily needs like men though not expressed and they also need to be looked and cared for .. she should not be treated as a mode of self satisfaction by men .. he needs to understand her needs also equally and try to caress her similarly the way she accepts him ever....
But no one would understand this concept of the information it is not actually to show that the women will go and sleep with another man .. it is show that she also has some feelings and physical needs like men .. and He is expected to understand them ..as she blindly depends on him for everything ...
Hey Gaurav nice thought. Ya u have told right that Indian women is a symbol of purety and all thats why we r proud of our Indian culture. Whenever anyone talk about world comparing countries we tell that our country is best because of our culture (especially about women's dress and about their conduct). There are so many types of women and girl, and because of some girls, status of our society is degrading day by day. This exists from ancient times. we can't control this, because of human greed. Girl and women who are dpressed by some male often indulge in such activity. and often used to blame males. This is wrong and women have to avoid such condition to maintain their dignity.
@ priya,
Well said.
u need to loook at both perspectives
